Henry Onyekuru is happy to be back with his Super Eagles teammates after his injury-induced absence from the team.
The forward is part of the 20 invited Super Eagles players currently training in Victoria for Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against hosts Seychelles.
Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr had handed him a couple of invites during the qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and used him in the team that lost 2-0 at home to South Africa in their first qualifying game for AFCON 2019 last June.
But a long term injury he got while playing for his Belgian club, Anderlecht last December cost him the chance to play in the world cup in Russia.
Following his impressive start in the new season for his new Turkish club, Galatasaray, he was handed an invitation back into the team and he appears to be enjoying every bit of his time with his international teammates.
“Great to be back with my brothers. Nice little beach workout today. Africa is Beautiful!!! #GoodTimes #GreatPeople,” Onyekuru tweeted on his Twitter handle on Wednesday.
