The Kogi State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will enable 5,000 youths from the 21 local government areas of the state to receive skills acquisition training at the Korea International Cooperation Vocational Training Institute in Lokoja.
Governor Yahaya Bello disclosed this yesterday in Lokoja while receiving a delegation from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), who were on a two-day visit to the state to understudy the activities of the Kogi State Youth Employment and Social Support Operations (KGYESSO).
The governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Folashade Ayoade Arike, said his administration’s emphasis on skills acquisition was aimed at reducing poverty, rural-urban migration and youths’ restiveness as well as ensure that the young people are empowered to be self-reliant.
